For Thanksgiving, we traveled up to Nashville, TN to spend the holiday with Davey’s mom and brother. It was such a wonderful trip and it was so nice to be back in Nashville. Both of our hearts are in the city and we long for the day that we can be there permanently! On our way back to Texas on Sunday, I wore this comfy outfit for the long travel day ahead. Little did I know that our 9 hour drive would turn into a 14 hour one! Right outside of Memphis we hit bad traffic and we didn’t get home until almost 3am. Blah. This outfit was a comfy one to travel in, lots of layers and stretchy fabrics help to maintain comfort throughout the drive. I think after a certain amount of time in a car though, nothing is comfortable anymore!
What is your favorite outfit for a long car ride?

My mom and brother are visiting and brought their 3 corgis, here they are all lined up!
This outfit makes me feel like a little girl and let’s be honest, what woman doesn’t love letting the inner “little girl” come out to play? You know when your mom used to let you get ready for school on your own and you’d come out in a sequined t-shirt, snow boots, a pair of camo pants and a hat and call it a day? That’s kind of how I feel in this outfit. Florals or Stripes today? Ah, what the heck, let’s just mix them and add some fun pink wedges. Perfect little girl outfit! The pattern mixing works because of the similar color palette. It doesn’t overwhelm you! Add some fun bright accessories and you have a great summer outfit. I didn’t get a good picture of this bag either but I LOVE it. I got it at Marshall’s and it’s actually supposed to be a tablet/laptop bag but it works perfectly for a crossbody purse! I’ll have another picture of it, don’t you worry.

First, let’s talk about my hair. I am sorry. This is really just pathetic! I never pull off a ponytail very well and this was a feeble attempt at it. In other news, I have found a new favorite capri! Earlier this summer, I fell in love with Target’s Merona Capris. The fun prints were a great addition to my summer wardrobe. However, it is hard to wear them often as they are so bold. I found these peach capris at Loft a couple of weeks ago and went back for a couple more pairs (during their 60% off sale!) because I love them so much! The color is playful and could be great for Texas springs, as well as summer! I paired it with a great black and white striped shirt, some wedge sandals and a bright bubble necklace to keep the look fun. The 100 degree temperatures are really starting to settle in here in East Texas. I’m not looking forward to these days whatsoever! However, I know they will be over and winter will be here before I know it.
Happy Thursday! Enjoy! Xo

After working 25 hours in 2 days, the LAST thing I wanted to do was put on normal clothes (i.e. not yoga pants or sweats!) and go into town. I honestly felt like staying curled up in bed all day but we had things to take care of so on went the jeans. I figured if I am going to get dressed, I might as well make it blog worthy, right? Davey graciously took pictures of me again as I awkwardly posed in our “front yard” while our pups looked at us longingly through the fence. As soon as the pictures were finished we made a mad dash inside so the puppies wouldn’t curse us anymore. We both feel an overwhelming amount of guilt for leaving them outside in our big fenced yard. Not sure why, damn those puppy eyes. Anywho, this outfit was perfect for running errands on a chilly day. Come on Spring! This cotton jacket is a perfect accessory to any outfit because it’s comfortable and still dressy enough to wear over a dress or with a skirt for work! Plus, I love mixing black and brown. Don’t you feel like such a rebel when you do something you’ve always been taught not to (like mixing black and brown)? Yep, rebel is my middle name.
Happy Wednesday everyone! Xo
