because life should be eventful

Happy Friday! If you are like me, I always struggle with what to get the men in my life! They are hard to buy for and most of what they want – they get when they want it! Hopefully these ideas will help you like they helped me!

I think the wedding had a lot to do with that – it made this year go by SO fast! Anyways – here are a few ideas for that beauty hunter, fashionista or homemaker in your life. Any of these gifts are sure to please!

Holiday Gifts For Her

I just love the holidays for getting all dressed up and attending fun parties! I have put together a few cute outfits that are so festive! Remember – you don’t always have to go for red and green but I just loved these combinations so much, I didn’t mind the holiday colors! This midi skirt is just to die for! It’s a must on my list for sure!

Holiday Attire

For Thanksgiving, we traveled up to Nashville, TN to spend the holiday with Davey’s mom and brother. It was such a wonderful trip and it was so nice to be back in Nashville. Both of our hearts are in the city and we long for the  day that we can be there permanently! On our way back to Texas on Sunday, I wore this comfy outfit for the long travel day ahead. Little did I know that our 9 hour drive would turn into a 14 hour one! Right outside of Memphis we hit bad traffic and we didn’t get home until almost 3am. Blah. This outfit was a comfy one to travel in, lots of layers and stretchy fabrics help to maintain comfort throughout the drive. I think after a certain amount of time in a car though, nothing is comfortable anymore!

What is your favorite outfit for a long car ride?

Enjoy! Xo

I absolutely love fall. It is definitely my season! I love the rich colors and lots of layers to keep warm. Thanksgiving in Nashville last week surely did not disappoint! The temperatures were cold and perfect for snuggly layers and lots of time by the fire! I absolutely adore this top from Loft. The navy is a great color for fall/winter and the sheerness of it gives it a whimsical feel for layering. Plus, it’s a longer top which is great with skinny jeans but thin enough to be tucked into a skirt or pants. I realized when taking these pictures that my entire outfit is from Loft! I may have a problem..

I know that Fall has probably come and gone in most areas by now. However, Texas is just starting to show fall-like temperatures,  These are some things I am hoping to snag before winter comes!

Lover mid calf skirt

I am completely in love with the trend of baseball caps for girls. Um, hello bad hair day! Who says that only guys can pull this off! I love this outfit for many reasons: 1. I can wear a baseball cap 2. I get to wear my monogrammed shirt from our wedding 3. It’s sooo comfortable! 4. It’s a great outfit for running around checking things off your to-do list! Particularly, this day we had to go buy a bed. No the most exciting purchase but we needed one for our guest room as we have lots of guests coming the next couple of months! It was a little chilly out when we first left to go find a bed, but by the time we got home it had warmed up a lot. Hello, Texas fall! Oh well, at least we get cooler mornings and nights! 🙂 Anyways, I hope your Monday is off to a great start. Don’t forget, next time those hairs are out of control, put a cap on it!

Enjoy! Xo

Yes, I took a 2 month hiatus from blogging. Yes, that really sucks. BUT –  life got a little crazy. Starting in September, work entered our busiest month of the year. This was the month I was excited about/dreading all. year. long. Excited because we were so busy and wanted to see how things went. Dreading because we did 10 events in just a matter of a few weeks – EXHAUSTING. Then, after the dust settled and casualties were counted (just kidding – kind of), our wedding was coming at us at about 100mph. Davey was working late because of mandatory overtime AND going to school twice a week, working on a masters degree. OH – we moved, AGAIN. Life was just insane. Then our wedding was here and flew by – seriously, there are parts that are completely black to me because it went by SO fast. And now, before I know it, I’m sitting at home on my couch feeling like failed blogger (AGAIN) and wondering what to do. So my solution – apologize and move on 🙂 So here is my apology – I am sorry for falling SO far behind. I hope that from here on out, it won’t happen anymore and I can manage and balance life a little better, but we will see. So to make it up, here are some Instagrams from what WE have been up to lately.

PS – Being married is AWESOME.
